The Latest Exercise Fad 1966 vs 2016

The Latest Exercise Fad 1966 vs 2016

1966
Doris still felt somewhat shaky when reminiscing about the Vita-Master Vibratory Belt Massager…it was certainly vigorous!

2016
A balance board, a Nunchuk and an obstacle course involving huge swinging canon balls…nowadays achieving fitness seemed fraught with danger.

Meet Doris

On the left it is 1966 and she is a young vibrant lady in touch with the latest fashion, technology and trends.

On the right, time has passed and it is 2016 and Doris has to cope with new technology, innovation and the changes in society.

Playing in the Park 1966 vs 2016

1966
Back in the days, the park was a place of tranquillity, the laughter of children, picnics on the grass and kites in the sky.

2016
As she sat relaxing with her bakewell tart and coffee in it’s recyclable cup, Doris wasn’t sure if she should hide under the bench for safety or smile for the camera!

Eggs, balloons and buns 17 May 13

If you are a fan of new LEGO parts then you are probably already aware of the fantastic blog New Elementary.

I’ve been a guest reviewer over there this week looking at the luscious new parts from 75824 Pig City Teardown – the mid sized set from this years new theme Angry Birds.

The Average American Basement 12 Apr 16

How the average British person imagines the average American’s basement…

 The Average American Basement

Sometimes, journalism really does encourage stereotypes. There has been a great deal about America’s gun laws, failed gun control and the pilgrim fathers’ statement about “the right to bear arms” in the news. Add in a little mass shooting and suddenly every American has at least an assault rifle in their basement.

I’m British. I’ve been in America quite a few times but I guess I missed out on seeing the average American basement. I think this guy is probably from the South…he looks a bit confused by my humour…or humor 😉

Lovely collection of Brick Arms weapons is actually a WWII collection from shop.minifigforlife.com/brickarms/

…I’m so inaccurate I know….

Taking Out The Trash 24 March 16

Meet Doris.

1966
Doris remembered those special days when she could take her bag of trash outside and put it in her trash can for collection.

2016
Doris felt that the ‘Refuse Analysist & Recycling Operatives’ had set up a new colour coordinated recycling intelligence test…and she was failing it.

Creating A Monster 12 March 16

The Arvo Brothers Alien Project – complete

24828360476_475da9ced4_o.jpg

My finished model of Arvo Brothers Alien Project, their latest instruction book. At 51cm tall, this is not going to be a desktop buddy. Looks awesome and some very nice shaping techniques and SNOT used by the Arvo Brothers.

Sorry the tail is slightly bent, my bad and nothing to do with the design…I think I just bent it lifting her off the shelf as my cat was very, very interested in her and seemed intent on tripping me up!

The book is available from their website www.arvobrothers.com/

You can see my review on TBB here: www.brothers-brick.com/2016/01/12/alien-project-by-the-ar…
